Yes it's true there is a new 2.50/60 downgrader and it works!! I myself have tested it (2.60 version) and am now sitting with a 1.50 psp :P Also i was in IRC when this got tested/released (this is not the same version that bricked 5 of ZD's psp's), to my knowledge no one has bricked on this new version but since it's still beta there is always a risk so only use it if you fully understand what's involved.

Edit: PSP's with a TA-082 motherboard (normally used in factory 2.50/60 psp's) should NOT try this

As per pspupdates comments, looks like 2-3 bricks, but over 15 successful.
I like how they link to a vid on a nother site showin a guys 2.5 going to 2.01.
I dont see the hype in thato ne, but theyre going back..

Apparently the reason it went from 2.60 to 2.01 is because the dump of the 1.5fw had a version changer or something, everybody thought the guy was lying till Mathieulh looked at the log files and confirmed it had downgraded.

and to think some ppl thought it would never happen lol
So everyone was thinking what happened to joeva right?
well 2 jobs, and now i take boxing 4 days a week. I hope you guys didn't think I ran out on ya.
Not to mention I orded some buttons from decal girl and the circle is too big and doesnt work, and my analog stick is stuck, as in when i play games ppl automatically move lol.(yes i kno i just have to reassemble the analog stick and it will be ok) I just havent had the time lol.

well i remember back in the day people were saying cos u could boot anything on 1.0 then people could make custom firmwares allowing u to say boot 3.0 and still be able to boot hombrew because it wont be a sony firmware itll be a dev one

Oh, right, maybe? Seeing as 1.0 has less security maybe it will be possible. And seeing as people said kernal access to 2.6 would be virtually impossible, maybe anything is possible now? Fingers crossed! :D

2.7 is already out
2.71 is out too.
I think 2.8 will come before 3.0 if im totally honest. But then sony may want to start afresh with GPS and webcam with a whole new figure (3.0)
We will have to wait til September when it is due out :)

im just thinkin 3.0 will have to be rushed out cos 2.8 wont have any really great features thatll make the dev community upgrade where as 3.0 does and they need to get peeps to upgrade before everyone downgrades

thx for the welcome back, unfortunatly you guys are a little wrong..
the truth is sony isn't investing that much money or time into the psp anyway..
which is why games arent dropping by the millions by now... as long as the psp has been out there should be over 600-700 games but there ar3 only rougly 300.
lets be honest we love the games cause we are using an exploit to play them but would we really all have a library of 100 psp games? and out of all the back-ups we have how many are games you would actually pay for?
sony put out psp to keep our attention for ps3,and now that its coming well the focus will be on ps3. they'll put out games to keep the 13 million buyers happy but that's it. they wont go out of their way to create great games especially with the fact that 2.5 and 2.6 has been exploited.
so they aren't really taking that big of a hit with this system

My sentiments exactly...
Even though there are lack of games out there, I still love my PSP, I'm always watching movies on there...its the perfect portable companion.

ya bout downgrading to 1.0, when i first got my 2.0 firmware psp bak in november, once i downgraded it, it happened to turn out to be 1.0, idk how but i think cuz i repeated the process, but i wouldnt recommend it :(

Ok....whats this i hear about needing some files from a 1.5 user in order to downgrade....OMG i love u guys...take that sony...I would appreciate it if somehow i got the needed files in order to downgrade....AWW i miss my 1.5 shouldnt have ever never ever updated ill be back at 1.5 in no timelol
