I recently made a tread asking if there was anyway to save complete games to my psp's memory stick. People posted only if I had a mod chip or a 1.5 fw. I now see posts that you can downgrade your 2.6 to a 1.5? Is it true and if so how can I do it? I'm not really into the tech stuff so please if I'm asking a really stupid question don't yell at me.

well i just did it today and it workd great after i figured it out. u can go to psp-hacks.com and get the 2.6 downgrader. put the downdater folder on the first screen u see which is the root dont put this folder into the mp root which i myself did at least 3 times today, anyways then go into the folder that says psp and that will go into a folder that says game which u will click on again and then itll have downdater in it and put that under the games directory and then using eloader with gta just load downdater and itll do it. ull have to have win rar to have acces to the files i was talkin about so get that if u dont have it cuz im to lazy rite now to get links, good luck busta

Also have there been any/many reports of briked psp's? Another question is where do I find the eloaders and other crap like that. Is there a step to step guide to make sure Im doing this correctly?

There's been reports of a few bricked PSPs, but only 2-3. Not anything to be concerned about.

Aw thanks for the help but I can't downgrade it anyway. You need to have had a different firmware and have upgraded it to a 2.5 or 2.6 to be able to downgrade it. I have a factory 2.6. Aww well I wait untill they have a 2.71 downgrader and I'll upgrade to a 2.71 and then back down to a 1.5

Its still downloading... but the instruction says to place the down grader file in the root menu of the psp... which i assume to be just in the main menu and not under any file. But some ppl have said to place it in the games file. Ill just follow instructions to the letter like u suggested. I Wonder why ppl bricked tho. Besides for the whole TA-082 incompatibility and ppl with new PSP. Makes me not want to do it. But i will anyways. Bored cuz i have dial up and takes forever download.

If you have a TA-082 you may brick, bear this in mind...

Andthe root is the first menu you come to, eg E:/
There are 2 default folers in the root: MP_ROOT and PSP. Put it along side this if thats what it says to do iv not tried the downgrader yet)

And upgrade to boradband fool! :P Its as cheap as chips nowadays :)

Good luck again!

lol i know its pathetic..took me 45 mins to download 9 mb.

The downgrade is a success i now have a 1.5 YAY!!!!!

Placed the first downdater file in the root menu but the other one comes under the psp file(which already exist in ur psp so dont replace it cuz i almost did)and put the other downdater file under the game menu. Then load up e loader and the screen turns black. The orange light for the mem stick flashes for about a minute(longest minute of my life)then the psp reboots it self and shows a blue screen that has a bunch of different languages that tells you to press circle. So i did. After that it boots again and its if you have just turned on ur psp for the first time and have to set the time and nick name etc.....

thats it man it worked for me im happy!!!! Now the psp forums will be flooded with dev hook and iso questions hahaha.

Edit: it will seem as if ur UMD wont work at all cuz i tried to watch a movie and it says the disc cannot be read. I saw somewhere online that u have to take the battery out and let the psp chill for like 10 mins... I did that and everything is back to normal. And in ur memstick u will find about a 170 downdater text files in ur root which is weird so delete those lol cuz u no longer need them... same as ur e loader files.

Damn i miss Adriana Lima on my wallpaper.
