Hi

You should only need to install 3 of the tools. Tools A & B you will definitely need to install and then ONE of tools C, D and E.

Check out this link:

Hope you get it sorted!!

did you install yours with one of tool C,D or E? I did try C but can't get it in like what they say in the manual cos my PS2 has a metal piece that cover the loction where tool C is supppose to insert and did insert tool E but my disk didn't rotate.

Guess my last choice will be the tape mod if the tools don't work. I just bought this PS2 and didn't want to void the warranty. Any tips to get tool E work?

Yeh, tool C wont work with your version of PS2 as there aint enough room to get it down between the hinge. I messed about with tool E but like you, couldn't get it to work. The tail of tool E has to rest on a little button thats about 5mils sq, so the slightest adjustment could make a big difference.
I got fed up trying to get it fitted and decided to take the risk and open the console to fit tool D. It took all of 5 mins to do and I haven't looked back since.
