hi guys i have swap magic 3.6 with the slide tool works fine for loading my imports (mainly japanese baseball games) an a few of my back ups
i also have hdloader with the majority of my PAL games backed up
what im wondering is it possible to put my import games an DVD-R backupsonto my hdd or is this not possible with the retail discs of hdloader
an if it is possible somehow how would i do that ?
any help great or small would be good , sorry if this has been answered elsewhere ive looked for ages an cant seem to find any info on getting backups onto the hard drive with hd loader
yes you can put them on a HDD, which would be connected to the PS2 via a network adaptor, a few things you need:
- HDLoader - if you have swap magic, don't get the retail HDLoader, it's outdated and there are better (free) versions out there, have a look in http://www.sksapps.com/ for this
- Winhiip - transfer games from CD/DVD/HDD (image of game) to your HDD which would be connected to the PC via an USB enclosure or IDE
- http://list.ps2hd.com/ for game compatibility
Do a search on the things you are not sure, as there are a great number of threads on this topic, but these are the things you need
yeah kewl thanks for that site man , still cant find much help on running imports off the hardrive i cannt connect it to my pc cause i only have a laptop unless i can connect it with usb sumhow ?
apparently you can do it with the new hd advance 3.0 which im led to belive is only a reskinned hdl0.7c ??

You CAN install games onto your HDD using your PS2, but I wouldn't recommend this, because it's not the best for your laser.
This is my recommendation:
1) Get the image file for HDLoader 0.8b and burn it to a disc: http://www.sksapps.com/hd/HDL_8B_CD.rar 2) Get yourself an USB enclosure so you can connect the HDD to your laptop (you won't regret spending the money on this - unless you'd rather spend the money to replace your laser later on, which will be more expensive than an USB enclosure)
3) Get Winhiip and install games from your PC (the program is pretty easy to use - have a look in the readme for Winhiip and you should get it - if you have no luck after reading this come back and ask for more help)
As for running imports from HDD, you won't have problems with HDLoader. I have JAP/PAL/NTSC games on my HDD and all of them work great. When it comes to copying the games onto your HDD, just forget about which region the game is from - they are all the same to HDLoader.
And yes HDAdvance is a pressed version of HDLoader 0.7c, I have this on my V9 as there's no modchip on that console, but my personal preference is HDLoader 0.8b which is on my V12 (I run it using my modchip)
