I have been having trouble finding information on putting infones and pgen onto my ps2 hdd so that I can play roms from my hdd. I have seen information about elfs and what not but am confuse. Are there any tutorials out there or could anyone tell me how to put infoness on my ps2 hdd. thank you!

I use a chip so I don't think that I can be the best of help to you, however it might be easiest to just run them off of a CD. I also use imbnes with great success, the .elf and all the roms are on the CD.

I have a Crystal mod chip 1.1. How would can I add the NES emulator to my ps2 hard drive to play directly from there since I can't get the disc to work for some reason. Thanks.

Are you trying to run your emulators from HDLoader? If so, it will not work that way. You need to run them from an elf Launcher.

How can I do that? I would much appreciate the help.

I just care about getting the emulators on the HDD. I can make rom discs to run the games from if I need to.

Does IMBNES or INFONES work on the HDD?

Ok I'm glad it is now clear that I cant run the emulator from the hdd. So My options for running the .elf files are a cd or a memory card? Am i right? Can I runt he emualtor form a dvd?

Actually there is a way to boot programs through HDLoader, but I really don't like the way it works. You basically need to make a boot cd and rip the cd using Winhiip or something. Then HDLoader will see the program and run it like a game. All applications don't always work though. I had tried it out some time back and figured it was too much of a pain to test different combinations since it involved constant reinstalling of the PS2's HDD into my PC.

How are you booting HDLoader right now? If you are doing the memory card exploit and it instantly boots to HDLoader, this is what you'll need to change.

What you will need to do is boot into an elf launcher (LaunchELF) instead. What this does is give you a choice of what application to run. With this launcher, you can run your emulator.

Again, i need to know what your configuration is so that I can advise you on how to make the adjustments nessassary to run the elf launcher.

The method that you are using to run elf files is pretty tedious. Have you ever heard of the memory card exploit? It is very easy to do and you will be able to run any application you want without haveing to swap a disc again.

I'm assuming that you have the fat PS2. From the sound of it, you already have all the tools you need to do the exploit.

There is a program called the Independance Compiler that will do the exploit for you. You would need to go to the creator's site to get it: console.iscentral.net

If you need further guides, many are available here at afterdawn.

After you install the exploit, I can show you how to run any app you want. Except maybe that infoNES program. I havn't heard of that one running on HDLoader. PGEN works for sure though.
