I realize this is the wrong forum for this question, and sorry in advance.
My question is about AnyDVD. i have the newest version and i have enabled speed control to silent and quite for dvds but when i burn cds it now takes much much longer, usually im done with a cd in about 2 mins, now it takes more than 15. I use itunes to burn cds btw. I've changed everything back to the orginal settings and still have the same problem.
Also whenever i put my computer to sleep and start it up again, the dvd/cd in the drive no matter if its a game, or a movie, starts but it self. How can i disable this? Im pretty sure its AnyDVD that is causing this, because it never happened before i got AnyDVD, thanks!
AnyDVD does the same thing to my drive. When you remove your computer from sleep mode, all the drivers (and AnyDVD is one BTW) instaneously go back online, so to speak. To disable autorun, try this method: http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/pest/collateral.aspx?cid=76351 Be careful though when you modify your registry, it can cause permanent damage!
I think AnyDVD does that because it's a driver for windows. It detects all your CD and DVD drives, including your virtual drives. It locks all your drives and takes off CD audio protection and DVD copy protection. It would be sweet if it did CD and DVD ROM games, but for now it doesn't. No, it hasn't messed up your computer in one bit. The most damage AnyDVD can do to your computer would be if it, for some reason, thought you had a DVD in and you took it out before it could register it. But, I've fiddled around with AnyDVD forever and that has never happened to me. AnyDVD is very safe to use. It's the best $39 that I have ever used. It just so happens that it was the first item I bought on any Credit Card!
If you think AnyDVD is causing a problem, then uncheck the autostart in the settings, and manually use the program when you want it. If you computer comes out of hibernation it is just as if you rebooted all the drives will do a check, either don't leave a disk in or disable autorun for your drive. AnyDVD disables autorun, so your disk should not be automatically playing if the program is running.
