You can not play any ISOs on firmware 2.00

You will have to downgrade to firmware 1.5, here is a guide:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/psp-downgrade.php

To turn the RAR into an ISO extract the RAR using WinRAR (search Google).

After you have done that, you will need to use a patch from www.ps2nfo.com

Hope this helped,

The patch/ripkit should take care of that problem.

Or you can use CISO compression and use DevHook to launch it.

Check this tutorial for help:

Well it works fine for me.

OK, first of all downgrade your PSP to firmware 1.5, here are the instructions:
Quote:
PSP Hacks :: PSP Downgrader
by MaHan05

For all you that do not like the read-me that came with the downgrader this should help you get from 2.0 down to 1.5

I've used this program myself and I can say that it is safe and it does work, IF you follow the directions. To remove it from the 28 pages that the other thread is currently sitting at, this will be posted at the top of all forums. Please direct all questions to either this thread or the Homebrew thread that will be joining it as needed. Thanks.

Downgrading from 2.0 to 1.5

The following two files are necessary...
MPH Downgrader
1.50 Update EBOOT
2.0 Update EBOOT
you'll need to upgrade to 2.0 first, if you're using 1.51 or 1.52

* Please note Norton AntiVirus and/or other virus scanners will incorrectly detect the MPH Downgrader as a virus. You can see here it is 100% safe to use.

This will ONLY WORK on a 2.0.
You need to unzip the files MPHDowngrader.zip and EBOOT_1.50.zip. Use a program such as WinRAR, 7Zip, or WinZIP (check Google). Once they are unzipped, you're ready to begin.
Set up a USB connection with your PSP and your computer.
Once the connection is set up, open up My Computer and browse to the removable disk that is your PSP. You'll need to set a few things up here.
When you first double click to open up the PSP on your computer, you'll be in what's called the root menu. There will be a PSP folder showing if you are in the right place.
Copy over to your PSP the following files to THIS location in the root folder...NOT in the PSP folder or any other folder. Index.dat and h.bin should both be in your root directory.
Once this is done, open up the PSP folder and then open up the Photo folder. Here, you will copy overflow.tif over, keeping it in the Photo directory and not a sub directory.
Now, go back to the PSP directory and go into the Game directory. If there is not already, create a folder called UPDATE. It MUST be called UPDATE and nothing else.
Open up the new UPDATE folder and then copy EBOOT.PBP into this folder from your computer. Once all of this is done, you're ready to downgrade. So far, so good.

Double check that you followed the above instructions before continuing.

Good.

Now, disconnect the USB connection from the computer and plug the AC adapter into the PSP. As with all upgrades, you must have a certain percentage of battery life as well as the AC adapter plugged in, or this will not work.
Go to the Photo icon on your PSP and scroll through the pictures to get to overflow.tif. You do NOT have to press anything. It will start automatically. Two strings of letters/numbers will appear. This is normal and good.
Wait AT LEAST 30 SECONDS and then turn off your PSP by holding the power button up until it fully shuts down. Then, start your PSP again.
You will now go over to the Game icon and scroll down to memory stick. Select it and you should see the 1.5 update.
Select it and start it up. Go through it as you've done before with your 2.0 update and follow the prompts. When the update reaches 99% it will crash and show an error. THIS IS OKAY. DO NOT PANIC. Once again press the power switch up until it fully turns off.
Now, turn the PSP back on. You will get another error. Just press the "O" button and it will restart after rebuilding the system data. Then just set it up as you did when you first got your PSP and you have a brand new 1.5 PSP. Be responsible with it.

If you have any concerns, please check this again before going elsewhere due to being extremely busy. Good luck and be careful with this.

Just go to the link I posted, then scroll down and click on the "Free" button. It will take you to another page where you enter a verification code and you can download it.

Does that help?

Just use the CISO Tool in the folder called "tools"

Here is how you do it:
Quote:
CISO/CSO Tool Tutorial by Chaos Zero

Tool: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6M5ZOA6R

Move the folder called 'tool' from the 0.41b update to C:\
Move the iso you want compressed into the tool folder.
Open Windows Start Menu -> Run...
Type "Command"
When Command pops up, input "cd\tool" and press enter.
Next, type in "ciso 1 NAME.iso NAME.cso" and press enter.

A new fill called NAME.ciso will be created. You may rename this back to NAME.ISO if you wish!

Of course replacing NAME with your iso name.
NO SPACES IN THE ISO NAME!!
eg. 'Splinter Cell.iso' must be changed to 'SplinterCell.iso'.

The number 1 stands for compression level; 1 being quick/larger, 9 being slow/Smaller.

Advanced; Format is: [ciso] [Compression Level 1-9] [Original ISO name] [New ISO Name]
Hope this helped,

put dh and dh% in PSP\GAME and the first dh in the ms0.

put DEVHOOK and DEVHOOK% in PSP\GAME

now launch dh and have a 2.50 UMD in the drive. extract the 2.50 UPDATE file.

do the same for v2.00

now, you're ready to rock!

If you don't have those UMDs, I can't help you b/c IDK how to do this w/o the UMDs. I haven't had to do it w/o the UMDs.

Good luck.

You don't have ANY UMDs at all? Oh, man... well you're in the wrong place. You need ANY UMD you can find, otherwise, this will never work for you. I suggest going to the game store and buying the cheapest UMD movie you can find just to have it in the drive. Hell, you can even use the DEMO UMD which came w/ the PSP when you bought it. If you have it, try that.

Good luck.

Tip: There is an old trick where you can wedge a small piece of plastic down into where the UMD would push against if it were in the drive. This will trick the System into thinking there is a UMD in the drive. You know what a UMD looks like most likely; just look inside the UMD drive for something you think the UMD would push in while in the drive. (Like a prong or something)

Also, I know v1.50 ISOs *ONLY* will work w/o a UMD in the drive, but w/ my experience, I think that only means you can take the UMD out of the drive once you have the game actually running. I've tried to do this same thing w/ newer games and the ISO always freezes. I put the UMD back in the drive and it starts playing again. HOWEVER, there may be a way to launch an ISO w/ NO UMD in the drive whatsoever. There are plenty of NO UMD launcher assists on the web, esp. at http://www.ps2nfo.com. But search Google first, b/c the front page of ps2nfo where they had those launchers is pushed back some now.

Look for the DevHook Evolved MPHGL NO UMD version r3 or something to that effect.

Good luck, mate.

I'm not exactly sure, but aren't those so that you don't have to insert the original UMD (but you still have to insert any other UMD)? Because this is what it says in a readme of a BOF3 NO UMD patch from PS2NFO:
Quote:
NOTE: Although this is labeled a "NO UMD" release, that just means you don't need the actual BOF3 UMD in the drive to play the game, however, you will need a UMD in the drive to run it (any UMD game should work).
