I am new to this whole DVD burning thing as matter of fact, I just got my burner today. Quick question.

I was looking at this software (sry, can't remember the name) that will let you burn directly from your TV to a DVD. Curious as how this works if you can only record up to two hours on a single DVD? I'm looking at recording sporting events which most go over two hours. Same with transferring video from VHS to DVD....if my current tape has four hours on it......you get the picture.

Thanks for the help

Is this a standalone DVD Recorder and not a writer? If so, you can use long play on the DVD Disk to record up to 240mins. Thats 4hours. Ita about the same quality as VHS. I think its 4MB a sec. Otherwise buy a 9.4GB double sided DVD!
