do u need modded maps to mod or can you just download softmods and play them on any map or play them on xbc?

The modded maps you download are called PPF's. If you want to play them, get PPF-o-Matic and convert the PPF to a .map file. You can also make your own mods with DotHalo. You have to have a modded Xbox in order to do this.

Lol...Thats wrong.....PPFs are a file format that you PATCH over the map...you dont't "convert" it to a .map.....you patch it.

ppfs are for noobs, they are good to start with but make sure you learn how to make your own mods. Its much more fun.

You can't save a whole game to the stock hdd. If you just want to play halo 2 multiplayer, back up all the files from the H2 disk except the map files with numbers in front of them (campaign maps).

i think you FTP them maps to your computer then save the and put them on one of those DVDR cds

Do a little bit of searching first. There are lots of posts about this ! You need to FTP the contents of the Halo 2 disk onto your hard drive (assuming your box is modded) It will not all fit so you'll need to remove the single player maps and maybe some video files that are not needed. It will be about 1.5 gig once you have the files you need.
