Ps1 backups on PS2 HD?

Been searching through this forum and some others and have a question.
Is there *any* way to load PS1 games onto my PS2's HD and run them from the hard drive?

It's a shame if there isn't, seeing as how HDAdvance will dump PS2 games to it (not that half of them work but *shrugs*). Seems like someone could come up with the same program just geared for PS1 games instead of PS2...but then, I have no idea what all software encoding is needed. :)

And just because HDAdvance doesn't work doesn't mean HDLoader won't load them

I thought HDLoader was an older version of HDAdvance?

No... HDAdvance is the pressed version of HDLoader 0.7c, the newest version of HDLoader is 0.8b

yea but it's not available in stores. Hd advance 3.0 is just as good

er not really... personally I'd suggest getting swap magic and then download HDLoader. HDAdvance is outdated HDLoader supports more new games (e.g. GTA LCS)

Hrrm, ok, I may well look into that. Really feel like I got ripped with HDAdvance 3.0. :(

For now it looks like I'll need to get BreakerPro and a flip top lid.

The good thing about HDAdvance is you don't need to go through all the swapping trouble, so no mod whatever needs to be done to your console (which is the reason I have that on my V9 - the person who uses that doesn't like modding the console :D ) But personally I like my V12 with HDLoader more :)

Yeah, that part's cool, I just wish HDAdvance would work with more games. ^_^

I may have to look into the exploit trick and grab a newer version of HDLoader, after browsing around some of the forums it seems to have been updated and advanced by users so that it works with more games now.

Never tried the MC exploit trick myself and to me it seems to be a lot of trouble, but if you have the right stuff at home by all means give it a try :)

Here's a thought - has anyone tried running uLaunchELF from the HDD? I've never tried this and I don't have my PS2 with me at the moment, but just wondering if this is doable?

The exploits no way near as hard as it used to be, nowadays theres GUI's that do everything for you.
As for loading ulaunchelf off HDD, the exploit loads BOOT.ELF from memory card 1, no where else so you would need a boot.elf that then points to ulaunchelf. Or a mod that can load from HDD.

I run ulaunch off the MC and everything else off the PS2 Hard Drive
MYPS2 HDLoader PGEN Etc I have all those running off the HD itself....
