I have joined a download movies from the net. Now I have the movie on my computer put don't want to sit at the computer and watch it. How do I burn it onto a DVD so I can watch it in my DVD player.

I have DVDShrink, can I use this? If so how? If not what do I use? The program it is in is Windows Media Audio/Video file.

Please help before I can't watch a movie I have paid for.

I'm guessing the movies come in a format that you won't be able to burn. Give us more information... what service are you using? Is it legit? What format do the movies come in?

EDIT: Sorry... I actually READ your post this time. What is the file extension of your movie?

hi deblee,
shrinkdvd isnt going to be much help for you unless you have a burning agent thats associated with it.Examples of programs that will work with shrink are Nero, imgburn.

If your files are AVI, maybe you have avicodec and can load your file into this file analyser and then post the file properties for us to see .Then we probably will be able to inform you of your next step................

You mention wma, do you mean wmv, if thats the case you need to convert your wmv file to a mpeg2 (dvd movie) format before you use your burning software to get it to disc

VSO's ConvertXtoDVD supports Windows Media files (.wmv extension)

Here is the software page that explains it in detail:
http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/

The free evaluation version places a watermark on the final results. When you buy it the watermark is removed.

Edit:
Exerpt from a thread at cdr zone about the .wpl extension:
Quote:
I searched a bit for you, and results are:

WPL is playlist. It is not file that can be viewed or converted.
NetTransport is loading RealMedia streams, storing them somewhere. Location and storing format is not mentioned anywhere.

So - you must find where are actual videofiles, and what format they use. Then you either convert them directly or find a software to convert those files to suitable format.

Click the link for cdr zone in my previous post. They talked about looking for where the files are stored on their hard drive...IF they are stored in another format you probably can burn them.

.wpl are not the actual video files.

@deblee,

u can use Nero vision to convert WMV or Mpegs to be able to watch on a dvd player, but i would advise if what u downloaded is a different file format then i would not use Nero vision because i have not got any file format besides WMV & mpeg to work. however i have done several with those types of files and almost all have come out good.
i also would suggest what fasfrank said about the VSo converter which is also a very good program.

I used the VSO software as you said to see if it would work and it did burn but when I played it on the TV it was lots of different colour tiles all over the TV. As far as I am aware they are wmv however, when I look it up it only tells me it is wml, how do I find out the file extension.
