dvd decrypter/ imgburn error messege

i've tried to backup ps2 games, i've ripped the disc into a iso and a mds with these programs but when i try to burn to disc i get the following messege with DVD Decrypter, and with imgburn as well:

I/O error!
device: [1:0:0] LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1673S JS07 (E:) (ATA)

Scsi Status: 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition

CDB: 2A 00 00 00 06 80 00 00 20 00
Interpretation: Write(10) - Sectors: 1664-1695

Sense Area: 700 00 04 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 08 03 00 00 00 00
Interpretation: logical unit communication CRC error (ULTRA/DMA/32)

I've been able to backup dvd movies without fail. I've tried using TDK DVD-R 16x, and verbatim dvd +r dl discs and i get the same error. Is there something simple i'm doing wrong that would cause this? I've tried looking in many different threads/guides, but none seem to address this particular error. I would appreciate any and all help that someone might be able to offer.

i do not back up games ye Liteon SOHW-1673S firmware needs updated its at JSOD

thanks for helping me update my firmware, but unfortunately it wasn't of any help. Although now i get a slightly different error messege:

Try changing your IDE cable, it sounds like it may be bad.
