i have tried burning some movies with dvd fab (express) and i get this message "Get DVD information fail. 4096". Does anyone know what this means? I rip it using dvd fab decryptor then shrink it with DVD Shrink and then burn it with dvd fab (express). I have been using this method with several movies including new ones and it always works.

Hi lsolo
That's a read error in fab decrypter usually caused by a dirty/scratched disc, bad press or you it can't handle the copy protection. Try cleaning off the disc(s). Make sure you are also using the latest version in 2.9.8.0. This will handle all the new stuff.

I figured it was something like that because the discs that it happened to where usually badly scrached. I just didn't understand what the error meant. Thanks for the info.

If you have another drive try it - some are better with discs like this.
Try and buff the scratches out with a soft clothe too.

Give the other program I linked to a shot - it uses DVD Decrypter which imho it best on discs like this.

If that fails than look like exchanging would be your best bet.
