Hi all,
Just came across this media and I was wondering if they are any good?
I have read the list of media near the top of this thread and there is this brand mentioned but I did not find positive nor negative remarks about them.
FYI, living in Sydney Australia, there is no TY media to buy and I am thinking since the BenQ burner I have just bought is fantastic, why not their (BenQ) media.
The cake box mentions them being made in Sigapore so where does this leave us???
I appreciate your help.

Benq media is made by daxon and is garbage. It seems to burn ok but the longivity sucks. Similiar to cmc mag. Very unfortunate since benq drives are excellent. I suggest staying away frm this media.

behrad,
You're welcome. A 50 pk was plenty for me to determine they were garbage. From what I've read about daxon media, there was a time they weren't too bad but they are very incosistant and it just isn't worth the gamble even though they are inexpensive. You're much better off spending a little more and using verbatim or taiyo yuden.

Yeah!As mort81 just said,CMC is to be avoided at all cost.Other memebers will agree on that too.If you can't find Taiyo medias, try to see if you can find verbatim medias, those with MCC coding,as i guess thet if you can't find any taiyo media, then you won't find any Taiyo verb either. Those MCC verbs can be qualified as very good media as well.I guess that if you can't find any Taiyo medias then the MCC verb(in my opinion)will be able to fill that gap without any problem.
If you can find these verbs, just don't buy a lot, just buy the minimum quantity and have some tests first on your drive to see if your drive likes them or not.
Keep us informed!
Vincent.

This is my personal opinion but I prefer MCC verbatim DVD+R media even over taiyo yuden. I've had better performance with the verbs and since I primarily use inkjet hub printables, can buy the verbs for less than I can TY's. I can usually find the non printables on sale for about the same price as the TY's, sometimes less. My last 100 pk spindle cost 23 cents per disc w/ free shipping. If I was a DVD-R user I would probably go with taiyo yuden not to say verbatim dvd-r's are bad.
