I'm using the latest version of DVD FAB DECRYPTER v 2980 and I can't get it to run with out locking up on at least 3 sections. VTS 2, VTS 3, VTS 11. Also tried AnyDVD v 6011 with Nero RECODE v 7 and DVD Shrink. LOCKS UP
get this message "FAILURE TO READ- CYCLIC REDUNDANCY". ERROR MESSAGE FROM Nero RECODE IS "FAILED TO READ FROM THE FILE - VTS_02_0.VOB
I also cleaned the disc 3 times with rubbing alcohol.
Update to version 6.0.2.1beta then use anydvd's ripper function to put the movie onto your HDD, tick the box remove unreferenced and blank cells. When finished open nero/shrink to compress, check the movie has came out alright then burn.
Sounds like your disk is either dirty or bad. I decrypted it up with FABDecryper 2980 with no problem. Clean your disk with a mild soap, rinse thoroughly.
I was able to backup this one with AnyDVD and Shrink no problem. As others have said, Probably a bad press if no significant disc damage can be found. Are you able to play it throughout without problems?

Always use good quality blank media. Verbatim is always a good call. Don't be seduced by those 50-spindles you find in the $2.99 bin at your local car wash! :)
