Hello Friends! I'm not for sure where this question belongs, but this is my best bet. If you'd like me to move it else where I gladly would.
I've recently downloaded a video that came in two folders, one called cd1 and the other called cd2. In the cd1 folder there are files with the extensions .r00 though .r45, a .rar file and a . sfv file. In the cd2 folder there are files with the extensions .r00 through .r36, a .rar file and a .sfv file. So my question is, could someone tell me how to throw all this together into a watchable dvd, or could you tell me somewhere to find a good guide? Thanks so much for all your time!
First of all you've got to extract those RAR volume files to reveal the video as a whole. You need an application that can deal with those compressed files. WinRAR or WinACE come to mind. You can download either of them as trials. Presumably, after you extract the files, you'll end up with two videos (cd1 and cd2). Most likely scenario, it's a Movie splitted into two CD's (aprox. 1.4 GB combined). You can join those two files into a big movie and/or use a program that can turn video clips into DVD compliant video.
Extract them, tell us what kind of video file is it (DivX, MPEG, AVI, etc) and what programs do you have.
WinRAR is a good app. You can open zip or rar files, or package large files to send to someone else. My WinRAR icons look like 3 stacked books. Once installed, a right mouse click opens a menu that shows the WinRAR options. My preference is to put the rar file into its own folder, and when I right click, chose "extract here." This keeps things clean. When you open everything, it should reassemble...or some instructions will appear that tell you the next step.
