First off, here are my specs...

Emachine

AMD 3800
1 GB RAM
2 HD on 200 and the other 300GB (added)
Two DVD drive, one is a Toshiba and the other lite-on

I have replaced the Power supply from 200 to 550WT when I had a previous failure.

I just replaced the Lite-on under warranty a few days ago.

I have used two types of Media, Memorex and TDK.

I have reloaded DVD Shrink, Decrypter, and Nero twice.

I just have no clue what's going on now, since the new drive showed up. The last drive would just burn up to 90% then fail, then 80, then only 70 and so on...

HELP!!!

Hi JSDTX,
one thing i can point out is the media.
Memorex is known around here as Memosux, extremly crap media
TDK is also not considered to be good media around here.

The best media are Verbatims, Sony,FujiFilm,Maxells but these three have to be made in japan, and the last one which seems to be the best is Taiyo Yuden media.

also are u using the shrink auto burn with Nero to burn because i noticed this error nCannot connect TRF in ur log
here is a link for that error and what to do

Ok i think that means your burner doesn't like those disks u are using. try using different media like the one i suggested.

Also look and see if there is a firmware upgrade for your burner as that might help the problem, im not that great at reading the logs to see whats wrong.

Crap Media = Crap results, if u don't believe me check out this thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/114809

i think there is a firmware update for that burner
here is link for firmware im not to sure about the firmware stuff so maybe u can get more knowledge from someone more experienced with that

So I got to the Nero site, and you were right. A lot of the people say it is firmware issues, and you gave me the site to download the firmware info from Lite-on, just I downloaded it, but where to I stick the damn downloaded files is what is my next question?
