The Toshiba DVD drive does not recognize the Sony +R TY disc, strange.
If you have DVD decrypter>tools tab>Drive>check for Firmware updates! You may need to update your firmware. The Sony TYsT02s are just THE best media.

Hi rgs6667
Edit out your serial in all your logs - it begins w/ 1A. You have several logs posted -some showing successful burns and some w/ burn errors. The logs are separated by this: ====== *** NeroAPI, History File *** ======
Quote: File 'Drivers\CDRALW2K.SYS':
Roxio doesn't always play well w/ Nero. You can uninstall it and run the clean tool.
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml
I would also try burning w/ DVD Decrypter when using shrink and let's see what happens.
http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/ Install decrypter.
Open it then go to mode>iso> select write.
Check and make sure your drive is picked under destination and set your burn speed.
Close Decrypter.
Now use shrink as usually but when you click back up under 'select target device' pick 'iso image file and burn w/ decrypter.
You can also use decrypter to see if there is a firmware update like garmoon pointed out.
Is this a laptop? Can't find much on this drive.

Ok then you should check gateway's website to see if they have a firmware update for this drive.
Check that and try decrypter.
Keep us posted.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong. Laptop burners are more problematic imho.
You're using good media (sony' made by TY) and have tried different software. It seems to me to be more of a problem with your burner.
Your drive fully recognizes the media in some of the above logs.
You can try different media like Verbatim 8x but since alot of your burns were reported succesful this may not make a diff. A dvd lens cleaner may help.
Since this is probably still under warranty I think it's probably time to give Gateway tech support a call too.

rgs6667 ,
There are 2 more things I want you to try.
1. In Nero set target size to Custom- 4350 as you are burning almost to the outer rim.
2. Slow that burn speed down to 4X

Doesn't the drive have to be in NTFS file format? Can't remember right off my head now. Decrypter top of log is telling us something?

Yep that would point to a fat32 file system. From the decrypter log though I'm not sure what this drive is - external drive maybe?. The c drive looks like the hard drive and the e drive is the burner.
So it may be telling us something just need rgs6667 to fill us in

Binkie7,
You have missed nothing . I also think it might be a firmware update needed by Gateway or the burner is going South real quick. As it is under warranty ship it back. The only thing that has not been tried is different type of media. Maxell might work and that is sold in alot of stores around here

Ok rgs6667
The last thing to try is the different media. Verb or the maxell's like Car.Mike suggested.
I don't really count the Imation's you've tried cause they do not always use the best manufacturers and can be iffy.
It's very unusual in my experience for all the burns to be successful using Taiyo made media and not play in the pc or a player. And now you are receiving burn failures with them.
