I recently bought an Emprex 16x dvdburner from pc world, mistakenly i downloaded Itunes which has given me a problem where it has wiped my burner from my pc!!! pc world no of this problem because they told me but didnt tell me how to rectify the problem!!! i have deleted itunes now but the problem is still there,the computer sees that i have a card reader but not a cd/dvd drive. Any help gratefully recieved to a basic user.

Emprex DVDWriters are not good at all, take it back and exchange it for the BenQ 1650.

Hopefully this will fix your problem:

Go into the HDD folder, goto program files find the itunes folder highlight it and press shift and the delete button (the one next to end)

How to delete itunes from the registry:

Press start, run, and type in regedit, then goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, software and delete the itunes folder, also go back and select HKEY_CURRENT_USER, software and find the folder again and delete.

Then use a registry cleaner to get it off your system.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: Go back to the shop and ask how to remove it, or better still call them :)

EDIT2: To make sure your dvdwriter is working properly go into the device manager and see if it says it is working properly (DMA should be enabled)

thanks very much for the advice on my emprex burner, did what you said and it now works fully. great advice,as soon as i get time the burner is giong in the bin and i will buy the one you suggested.Lesson learnt dont trust pc world!!!!!!!thanks again.
