For DVD+R 8x Taiyo made medias, the inner hub code should begin with TG00....Then you'll know if they are genuine or not.
But the code you just gave doesn't seem to be the right one,if you look well and if these are genuine Taiyos, there should be another code starting by TG00....And check if there's the mention of "Made in Japan" on the package.
You can't just say if these are genuine ones just by looking at the media ID code.Till now there's has not been any report about fake Sony medias using Taiyo media ID code, but with all these fraudulous companies nowadays,it's better not to trust only these media ID codes. To be sure, just follow what i've said about the inner code and about the made in japan.

Go grap these as soon as you can.I can assure you that these are genuine ones! They code out the same as my Taiyo Verbs(TG001162),which are top notch. The inner code and the Made in Japan are the proofs.
So you can go forward in buying them, but hurry up as these Taiyo medias, mostly in the DVD+R 8x range, are becoming more and more difficult to find now.
In fact there's no difference between TY 8x +R and the sony 8x +R (YUDEN000T02 coded) because both are made by Taiyo Yuden. The only difference is that the first one,i.e Taiyo Yuden, uses it's own brand name whereas for Sony,it uses Taiyo Yuden as manufacturer to make their discs. And by that, both have the same characteristics. They can even have the same inner hub codes, depending on batches. They are identical(that's the proper word to use).
It's true that most of the time Sony medias are cheaper than the Taiyo Yuden medias,we don't know for which particular reason(maybe marketing one)it's like that, but as long as we have these Taiyo medias at great prices, better stock them up!They're never too much!
I have been ordering these TY 8x +R from Rima/SMS for a while, but now I can feel confident to search and buy those alternate Sony 8x +R (white octagon spacer/MIJ) at local stores (while they last). No more shipping time and fee !!!
Your welcome tom_v.And to be exactly sure they're Taiyo ones, just refer to the code that you will find in the inner hub(the one which is nearer to the hole),normally it should read TG00xxxx where xxxx refers to the batch number and can vary.Just have a look at the earlier posts in this same thread, this will help you distinguish the real Taiyos from fake ones.
If there's anything else you don't understand, feel free to ask.And happy shopping & burning :)
