I use the internet on my laptop, through a wireless router that i have set up in my house, my ps2 is in my room along with my laptop, and i cant play in my room because the modem for the internet is connected to the wireless router downstairs, but what i would like to know is, is it possible for me to connect my PS2 to my laptop and use the internet connection that way, if yes, PLEASE tell me how and what i need.

yea, i searched and found a few links, but they dont get me through, but confusing, if u can simplify it for me, do i have to enable internet connection sharing on the wireless 802.11g adapter and the ethernet port through which im connecting my computer with, i tried it and it says that an error occured, and the IP used for ICS is already in use on the network, what should i do?

are you setting the IP adrress for the PS2 one number different than the PC? Like:
PC 192.168.1.100
PS2 192.168.1.101
they can not be the same or you will get a conflict.

i connected up the ps2, and i tried to enable ICS on my wireless 802.11g card. This is what came up:

So do i change the IP of my wireless router, because Iit says that ICS requires the IP that already in use. Or can i change the IP that ICS uses?

I have never done PS2, just Xbox, so i am just throwing out some idea's here.
Try creating a new LAN connection just for use with the PS2
And just to make sure, if you have a connection for your provided, and a LAN connection already there, are you doing all of this on the LAN connection? That is what i used, not the one with the internet providers name.

waleed, you problem is you're using the same IP twice somewhere, be sure each connection has an individual IP within the same range like what steimy mentioned.

It that what your using, i am not familiar with ICS
How do I get my PS2 to work on ICS?
1. Make sure that you have installed the network adapter.
2. Turn on the PS2 and insert the Network Adaptor Startup Disc.
3. Once the menu has appeared, press X to enter the ISP Setup.
4. Once it has loaded, press X to continue.
5. Your PS2 will search for the network adapter. After the network adapter has been found, press X to continue.
6. Press X again to continue.
7. Wait while the data is accessed, then select New, and then press X to continue.
8. Type a name for your ISP setting, such as ICS.
9. When asked if you currently subscribe to an ISP service, select Yes and press X to continue.
10. For connection type, choose High speed connection (cable or DSL) and press X to continue.
11. Select Automatic Settings and press X to continue.
12. When asked if your ISP requires a User ID and Password, select No and press X to continue.
13. When asked if your Internet Service Provider requires you to input a DHCP Host Name, select No. Unplug your network cable from the PS2, and press X to continue.
14. The network connection test will fail. Do not press X or Triangle. Press Select to see the error message.
15. The error message will display the hardware MAC address, which is a combination of 12 numbers and letters. Write the MAC address down.
16. Call ICS at 515-232-4453. We will get the MAC address into our system as soon as we can

If you can choose automatic set up, then there must also be a way to choose a manual set up and enter the information. But you will most likely need to enter the IP, DSN, Default Gateway and all that.

ummmm you wouldn't change the IP that ICS uses, you'd change the IP of one of the components that are conflicting (say your pc network card IP and you PS2 network adapter IP are the same you'd have to change one)

I would personally leave the PC alone and change the one for the PS2.

When i try to enable ICS on the network card that my ps2 is connected to, it says that the ip address 192.168.0.1 that is required for ICS is already in use on the network, this is obvious because ICS is enabled on my computer that is connected to the router so the internet can be used, so i cant change that as an IP, so what do i do?

do you have the PS2 network setup disc?
You may be able to use that, then change the PS2 IP address to
192.168.0.2 so it is in the same range as the PC. Like i said i have never doen PS2, just Xbox, also through a router but i have no idea what ICS is or how it works.
But with Xbox it works like this.
PC IP 192.168.0.1
then Xbox IP would be set to 192.168.0.2
and a thrid device could be set to 192.168.0.3
each one with it's own IP address but all in the same ip range as what the PC has.

insead of doing all that junk and getting some kind of error after error why not try Nyko's Net Extender It's plug and play, No need to set up anything, No drives, no WEP nothing just plug the base unit in with ur router and the receiver unit with ur PS2, Transfer rate is @ 10MBPS but thats perfect for PS2 gaming works really well and is way cheaper then "real" wireless adapter, since this really only acts like a wireless "brige" anyway It works really well I got my brother one and he still uses it to this day to play FFXI and it works just fine, I think there only $30 now give it a try!
