First up I would like to say sorry if this has already been discussed, I have looked through almost every thread in the forum for what I need.
Hello to all, I have a DUO 3 mod chip, and a PS2 v7, after installing there is no image, the DVD drive does not spin, or open. I have checked all solder joints, connections, and so forth several times, I dont know what is wrong, I removed the chip and tried a new one but still same problem. Was working fine before I installed the chip, if someone has a full illustrated manual would be helpfull... also i have checked all fuses to see if any where blown, but all working fine. please help if you can.

Also i would like to know if it is possible to use a USB memory stick to boot Reality media player, and play DivX and mp3 CD's without burning the media player on the CD... I know DUO 3 is capable of this because I also have a PStwo slim v12 with DUO 3 and works fine with the player on the CD, its just i have heaps of mp3 cd's that dont have it and i would like to play them... if anyone knows, it would be helpfull... still need to know about the other PS2 v7 though...

don't double post please - read the forum rules before you post :)
you could've fried your PS2 in the process of installing, cos if it's an installation problem the PS2 should at least boot... have you tried removing the chip and booting the console?

So you mean the PS2 boots and plays originals fine when you take out the chip? In that case you'll want to check your soldering again and make sure you've soldered them to the right places and it could be that both chips you tried are not working to start off with, but I doubt this is the case unless you bought them from some dodgy place...

Don't think there's any installation guide for modchips (at least none that I've seen), all the ones I've seen are just diagrams for where the wires are meant to go... If it still doesn't work you could try contacting the guys you bought the chips from, whether they'll do anything about it or not is another matter

yeah.. i fixed my problem... the points you are looking for are on the other side of the board... and if it doesnt work.. try covering all points with a bit of anti static plastic.. i found that my ps2 was overheating and resetting.. i also found that it wasnt getting enough power, so i moved the power wire to the little fuse above it, it has 63 written on it... and it worked fine after that... hope that helps

you need to see if your TV is NTSC only... if so you need to get a new TV or a dvd player/video player that converts PAL to NTSC and visa versa, or a PAL to NTSC converter, i think you can find them on ebay fairly cheap... I live in Australian and i have the same problem with NTSC games, but i havnt found any cheap solution...

Ps version: 7
Chip: duo 3
Hello, how did you fix your problem?? I'm having a similar problem. my ps2 booted up for about 10 mins after I installed the chip. Then my dvd-rom drive made some funny noises, and then I get a disc read error for burned and original games.
