Hi, recently i've brought the dvd R/W for my system. While I tried to copy files from a cd to my hard drive its displaying like "I/O error" and file cannot be copied....like that. What could be the problem. I am using Nero SmartStart... plz help me

What are you trying to rip (copy) to your hard drive? Is the disc copy protected?
What's the exact error message?

If it's not a copy proection issue try cleaning off the disc.

hello binkie the problem is I couldn't rip files from any of the CD's or DVD's to my hard drive it is saying that Input/Output error... specified files could not be copied.... like that.

Is this an external or internal drive? What's the model # of the Sony?
For the dvd's & cd's you are trying to rip to your hard drive - are they originals? copy protected? Just need a bit more info.
