I was recently using a method of transferring save files from a cd-r onto the PS2 mem card from this thread:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/250221
Everything was working well, until I downloaded a RE4 game save and transferred it to my memory card. When I started up the game the saves didnt appear so I went into browser to check if the save file was there and it was, so I tried to delete it but it gave me an error saying delete failed on both of the game saves. Is there any way I get get rid of just those 2 game saves? I checked to see if my other game saves worked and they did but I'm afraid that they will corrupt sooner or later. Hopefully someone can help me.

I was also thinking about renaming a save file to overwrite the RE4 game save but I'm not sure if this would work...

try using uLaunchELF or ExecFTP to delete it. Also check out http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/366481 to see how to copy game saves

For uLaunchELF I need a usb flash stick correct? Or does it have an option to specify which game save I want to delete?

no... well think of uLaunchELF as the Windows XP explorer thingy, you can delete/move/copy files. So you'd just go and delete the folder of the save file (the saves are saved in folders, and within each folder there's a few files, i.e. 1 folder = 1 save)
