Hello, I installed a dms4 chip on my v7 ps2,I believe it worked fine except you couldn't use the controllers, I had messed up the controller ribbon, so I ordered new one, then all of a sudden the next time I tried to turn it on, there was no power, the eject/power ribbon is also messed up, my question is can that cause no power, fan doesn't run, no lights whatsoever. I ordered a new cable for it, just hoping that is it, the fuse looks fine, the main one anyway, haven't checked any other board fuses., any help would be appreciated

I'm not an expert on the ps2 internals but, from an electronics point of view I'd have to say yes. If the power ribbon is messed up and is not getting the signal from the motherboard to the buttons or viceversa, then it could look like there is no power (since when you first turn the ps2 on it goes into standby where the reset button would be red and there would be no fan running or anything until you press the reset button to power the ps2 on). So, if the signal doesn't get to the motherboard that the reset button has been pressed then yes it would look like there's no power.
