My PS2 freezing??

I have a serious problem that I don't know how to take care of. I just got X-Men Legends 2 off of ebay last week(second hand). The first thing that I checked before playin' was check for any marks and at the time there didn't seem to be any marks. So over the first week, everything was fine...until 2day. I was playin' with my brother when it happened but during the game it just suddenly froze on me. I reset the game and tried it again and sure enough it froze again at the same point in the game as the first time. I tried putting a cloth with rubbing alcohol and a second time with windects but still nothing. Can anyone at all help me out!?

If its happening at the same point in the game, then that would suggest some sort of problem reading the data from the disc at that point. You could try making a backup of the disc - your PC's DVD drive should be able to read the disc better than the PS2 laser can in its drive. Although, obviously, you will need some way to boot the backup - either modchip or swap magic disc & tools/fliptop.
