I am sure this question may have been addressed in the other forums, but I will try it here. I recently recieved a DVD from Spain, and my computer nor my DVD player is not able to play it. They do not recognize the file extension. I am sure this is a regional thing, and was wondering if there was any downloadable program that will allow me to view the DVD. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks for the program. I am unsure exactly what to do with it after I downloaded it. It recognizes the disk, but after that, I see no option to play the disk. It just gives me the general info, and when I attempt to access the help icon on the top right button of the window, it does nothing. I am unsure what to do regarding this. Any additional help would be invaluable. Thanks again for your time.
AnyDVD is known mainly as a decrypter, but it also will allow your burner to act as if it were region free. As long as the AnyDVD fox icon is running in the system tray, you should be able to use the DVD playback software of your choice (WinDVD, Windows Media Player, etc.). AnyDVD simply runs in the background so you can use the program of your choice to work with and/or play the DVD.
On AnyDVD's General info screen, it will tell you which region(s) the DVD is locked to. It will also give you other useful information, especially if you intend on backing up the DVD.
Quote:AnyDVD works in the background to automatically remove the copy protection of a DVD movie as soon as it's inserted into the drive, allowing you then to backup the movie using a DVD backup tool such as CloneDVD and CloneDVD mobile. You can also remove the RPC region code, thereby making the movie region free and viewable on any DVD player and with any DVD player software.
AnyDVD is capable of removing unwanted movie features, including subtitles and prohibition messages such as copyright and FBI warnings. It also allows you to launch an external application whenever you insert or remove a disc, or prevent 'PC-friendly' software from automatically launching when you insert a video DVD.
Decryption is not all that AnyDVD offers. You can control the drive speed of your DVD drive, allowing you to reduce the noise level when watching movies on your PC. You can even adjust the display frequency of your monitor for both NTSC and PAL displays.
But AnyDVD doesn't just stop at DVDs. It also decrypts protected audio CDs to allow you to copy them.
