abort, retry or ignore??
This is at 49% of the download the other message appeared before it started ripping and I pressed cancel. What should I do for this one? (It already retried about 70 times)
Should I abort retry or ignore? The log will not be available until I chose an option.

The person who started this thread had a burning problem - you have a reading/ripping problem - not really the same thing.
What movie is it? Can you post the whole log?
WTF... You cant use any HTML tags in here...

This is the same person. No I can't post the log until someone advises me as to weather I should choose Abort, Retry( it already did this 70 times) or Ignore.

Hello all
It seems to me that a lot of people have started having problems with the program DVD Decrypter, which is very odd!!
I have had no problems in the past, all using the same media and burner until today. I tried backing up a new dvd i recently purchased and now i cant do it.
I use DVD Shrink 3.2 and DVD Decrypter to burn the iso image.
I can get the ISO file but cant burn to disc.
The log looks like this
I 00:07:42 DVD Decrypter Version 3.5.4.0 started!
I 00:07:42 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2)
I 00:07:42 Initialising SPTI...
I 00:07:42 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...
I 00:07:42 Found 1 DVD-ROM and 1 DVD±RW!

I 00:08:37 Media Type: DVD+RW (Disc ID: PRODISC-W02-00) (Speeds: 4x)
I 00:08:37 Quick Erase: No
I 00:08:37 Erasing Disc...
E 00:09:00 Failed to lock volume for exclusive access.
E 00:09:01 Reason: Access is denied.
E 00:09:01 Operation Failed! - Duration: 00:00:24
I have tried to ignore it but it get half way through and up pops another error message. I'll have to write it down as it was a long one.
It is very strange as its only just started to go wrong.
Any advice would be great

You have another program that is locking your burner. Close that other program down or restart your computer.

Seems to me that you have a problem with your hard disk. DVD Decrypter can't read the source file DVDFILM.ISO. Try to run a Windows scandisc (or what it is called in the latest Windows versions) to see if you have some bad clusters on it.

@Cynthia_
In Xp it's called chkdsk now :)
@San_Marco
In my computer right click on your hard drive (C)- properties>tools>error checking. Check both boxes -restart and windows w/ scan and repair. May take a bit.
@lighty82
You also asked here:

Well what a day, i tried to use the windows w/ scan and repair solution with the 5 step process on the hard disk (c:/)
I came back to find a black sreen with operating system not found. I panickered a bit thinking i had deleted xp. I turned "off and on again" and it went back to the scandisk thing again and the 5 step process with clusters being found and the file dvdfilm.iso had bad clusters on it, What are clusters? i have deleted the file anyway, but am affraid to use shrink and decrypter again.
i normally use shrink and have the setting to burn the iso file with decrypter. Can i change it to use imgburn?

I have found this site
http://www.dvdr-digest.com/articles/38_1.html
which tells of problems with DVD Shrink and how DVD Shrink can't backup some DVDs
2. Error Code "cyclic redundancy check":
DVD Shrink encountered and error and can not continue
Failed to read file "(Device)\" Data error (cyclic redundancy check)
This is the message i had in the log.
So does this mean it is todo with the dvd?

right i know all about that site,,it's because shrink
cannot do the newer movies by it's self,
you need newer programs to rip it to yor H/D first
then send it threw shrink
good free programs to get the job done are;
.DVDDFab
.RipIt4Me(you need DVDD, Fixvts and shrink all installed)
.VoBblanker
all are in my sig.

a "CRC" error could also be a dirty or damaged disk.

I am going to try to use an old dvd that has been done before and back it and see what happens. If the same message happens it not the dvd.
Just a point of note I played the dvd that had the error message which had been backed up and the first half works fine with the menus working it just stops half way through probably when i got the error message in decrypter
