i saw a hack on hackaday.com that explained how to hook up a computer hdd to the newer slim version of the ps2. i know the conections but it was unexplained how to format the hard drive. does anyone know how? is it possible to store games to the hard drive and play the off it?

PS: doing this to your psp voids your waranty and i do not recomend doing this unless you are experienced with electronics, soldering, and general diy-ing!

PS:(2) were can iget a cheap ps2 to experiment with?

your thread title is messed, and this is old news man. Did you come out from under a rock? Hook up a USB HDD to the PSTwo, or crack it open to use IDE

FYI, next time you post here give a link

You can format the hard drive with USB Extreme software, worked fine for me. As your new to this, be aware that only about 50% of games work with usb extreme, not as reliable as hd advance for the fatter ps2.

****Status Start****

V12 Slim PS2 with DMS 4 Pro & Laser Correction & 250GB External HDD
V1.3 Xbox with Xecuter 2.6 w/adaptor & 120GB HDD

****Status End****

why would he want usb extreme, thats for PSTwo. Dont get UBD Extreme as it is pointless for you. HDAdvance/Loader and use WinHip/Dip, i forget.
