Ive got a bunch of files on the PC, primarily PPV stuff. Most are close to 3 hrs long, on 2 different files. What i was using was dvdsanta but obvioulsy it encounters an error 2 seconds into the encoding due to the size i figure. Anything out there to be able to put say 3 hrs or more onto a dvd

ive heard u could, might hurt the quality but any help i appreciate it

but i ll just use one for an example

file 1 = 699 mb = 86 minutes
file 2 = 693 mb = 88 minutes

as to what i have

dvd santa, Nero vision express 3, divxto dvd, convertxtodvd(which im trying as we speak)

well im not sure how you would put 20 files of around jus under 700mb each all on the same dvd. Unless you use maybe a dual layer disc or sumthing. If i was you i would be putting them on a few dvd discs as you would have to dramatically compress those files to be able to fit them all on the same disc.

But that is just my opinion so maybe somebody else may have a better idea but i woud say putting them on a few discs is definatly your best bet.

Need any more info or help jus ask =]

lol im a lil confused it may just be the way you have phrased it lol so you have 20 ppvs' being 2 files each, meaning you have roughyl 40 files? and 2 files make up one ppv?

correct

ive got probably around 20 ppvs that are seperate

basically its UFCs most are 2 files per PPPV, however a few are 3 files

but lets just see what i can get im wanting one PPV(2 files) onto a dvd, when i use santa it just encounters an error and closes out.i assume to not enough room or whatever

so let me just make sure i am correct in understanding this. you only want one ppv on a disc?

so that means u want the 2 / 3 files that make up that one single ppv on the one disc?

sory bwt all the wuestions i just wnt to mke sure im correct before explaining my method as its a bit long winded lol

well they are in chronological order and pretty much all the files are simliar in size

is there a way to say put UFC 59 and UFC 60 on one dvd and keep great quality? if so wow

but if not yes just 1 PPV per dvd

right well i would only suggest one ppv per disc as im fairly sure you will only jus about fit them on one disc. i dunno if you will be bale to get the ones with 3 files on one disc soo just do all your ones with only 2 files first ok =] just to make sure it works for you . that will then take care of a lot fo them for you.

Right firstly you will need to convert your files into .vob files in video_ts and audio_ts files. You can do this with DivX to dvd =]

Once you have done this with the 2 /3 files for the one disc and you have them in dvd video format (.vob files), you can now use this guide below to show you how to put multiple files on one disc using DVD Shrink (this is the method I use).

http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/multiple_dvd_to_dvdr_dvd_...

this then puts both files on the same disc for you and te guide also shows you how to burn it =] i think this is exactly what you are wanting to do.

please let me know how you get on as i like to know that i've helped in the right way and you have successfully done what you set out to achieve=]

as always, any questions / info needed let me know =]

will do i appreciate it

btw i use shrink for my dvd to dvd burns so instead of open disc, id just say open files im assuming the buttom to the right of it

and if its 2 big in shrink it will have the red bar at the top opposed to the green bar correct?

if so ive heard u can shrink mulitple times till u get it under
yes?

i suppose you could try that i have never tried it that way myself. give it ago theres nothing to lose.

and yes you are correct if its red then its too bog to fit on standard 4.7gb disc.

and no i dont think it works like that. if you read that guide i think there is a section in the middle that shows you how to compress =]

actually ive used the DivX to dvd(its now called convertxtodvd) but anyways it encodes them and burns them directly

so i can bypass the shrink step

even has a setup for like a menu system, but not sure what i did wrong as it just heads straight into the PPV instead of showing my menu

but anyways thanks for your help, and i was able to put the 3 files onto one dvd
