Hello mattdogg.

Here's a guide that might help.

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334154

You might need to run it through vobblanker or fixvts after ripping with DVDFab Decrypter.

You might also try using AnyDVD or ripit4me which uses DVD Decrypter with a PSL file.

AnyDVD: http://www.slysoft.com
ripit4me: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/360110#2132519

It could also be a mastering error in the disk.

or you can just use RipIt4Me... it's free and easy and here is a guide on how to use it and also where you can download all the programs for it, Arniebear did a great job on this one:

I think your dvdfab decrypter may not be new enough to handle new encryptions. That had not been updated in over a year. A new version of shrink might do it alone. Otherwise you need to go to something current. Defab does have a free ripper, DVDdvdfab decrypter that is current. I am unfamiliar with freedomland. I haven't used dcrypter since they stopped maintaining it. That was a good long time ago. The other possibility it there is a surface problem. Make sure it is perfectly clean by holding it up to the light on an angle. If it is scratched you need to get a CD grinder. The cheap hand ones go for about $30 in Best Buy, Kmart etc. Scratches are weird some small scratches in just the right place will stop the copy process. I wouldn't fool around with any home scratch remidies even though sometimes they do work but they always take way too long and usually don't work and often ruin the disk by takeing off too muuch plastic.

A non encrypted disk can be copied with more scratches.

@ mattdogg,

yes u must run the folder thru VobBlanker if u ripped with DVDFab for that movie. do what laddyboy said.

here is a different guide for VobBlanker
http://www.dvdr-digest.com/articles/article_vobblanker_page1.html

also i would advise for anyone to use Vobblanker if doing a Sony/Columbia, or disney movie!

I disagree with Mez's reply

First off I think Mez got mixed up with DVDFab Decrupter and DVDDecrypter..... two different programs..... Fab is updated and Decrypter is no longer updated. Just because DVDDecrypter is no longer updated it is still the king of the rippers. It can booktype your drive to DVD-ROM, check on your firmware and let you know if it's current or not, rip all the older movies to the hard drive, change the regional code of your drive, tell you what your drive capabilities are, burn the movie to the hard drive after it is processed with shrink or is it's ripped and doesn't need shrinking, and with AnyDVD it can still rip the new movies to the hard drive and with RipIt4Me you can still do new movies with it! DVDDecrytper is the king...... still is.... and still used by members that know it's capabilities. Plenty of people still use DVDDEcrypter and now with programs like AnyDVD and RipIt4Me the King of the Rippers still lives on............

thanks ihoe for clearing that up about dvdfab, i was just getting ready to reply and you beat me to it! i did this movie using dvdfab and that was a few versions ago so combine dvdfab with vobblanker and this movie will give you no problems. just use the guide that laddyboy posted and you should have it. good luck.

Hey TJ ..... how ya doin?

I'm just a big fan of DVDDecrypter and so are many members here. Misinformation is a killer, and it has to be corrected immediately as to not being passed on as truth. I have been corrected many times while learning and still am! There is soooooooo much to learn and still not enough time! LOL

I agree w/ IHoe. DVD Shrink & dvd decrypter(used with AnyDVD), dvdfab decrypter and RipIt4Me are all good programs when used correctly.

@ Mez, I wouldn't fool around with a cd grinder, whatever that is. I got a dvd cleaning system from BestBuy that cleans scratches and then polishes the disc. I've had to use it a couple of times and it works very well.

@tl_Mitch....... what's the name of that cleaner? I need one. I always used a little soft cloth and some jewlery cleaner but when I came across some old DVDs that my son scratched to hell I couldn't rip those! I still have them but never attempted to get a DVD cleaning system .... and the one you discribed I can get at BestBuy... what's the name of it?
