hi

i've tried to back up a dvd r with nero and it says that the medium is not regonized, can u copy a dvd-r directly?

Depends on how the DVD-R was originaly created. On DVD-R's I make myself I can just do a straight copy. On ones made in my buddy's DVD VCR, I go through the entire DVDdecrypter, DVD2one process. Otherwise it will either give me errors or not play on some stand alone players.

BTW- DVDdecrypter and DVD2one are slick when using a < 4.7 GB disc.

the back-up was done with dvd decrypter, wat software do u use so it copy's it straight?

I use Stomp RecordNow after I've finnished the DVD2one.

Totally agree with you Ken0042

I to use dvd decrypter, dvd2one and recordnowmax - excellent bit of software for data burning.

I tried using the disc to disc (recnowmax) but always got an error at the end BUT the dvd still played ok.

I then tried the following:
I just put the dvd (the backup to copy) in.
Then chose data option.
Then just dragged n drop the VIDEO_TS folder to the blank - worked a treat and no errors...

The long way would be to copy the VIDEO_TS folder onto your hard drive and then burn it again.
