"No Data" Error

Last night, I tried using my sharkport CD and I kept getting a DRE. So I decided to just screw it, put it my NCAA 07 in, and it worked fine. This morning, I tried cleaning my lens using rubbing alcohol and a Q-Tip, and when I tried putting various discs in (DVD, Blue bottom) and I get a "No Data" Error. Is there a way I can fix the lens, or is it fried for good?

PS - I have a version 1-3, I can't tell because I lost the piece on the back.

Make sure that the cable that goes to the laser didnt come loose, when you insert a cd does the laser move back and forth, open up the drive, and power up the ps2 to see if it still lights up. Then get back to me.

Thanks for your help, but that wasn't it. I tried cleaning it again, and it worked (for the most part). But it still doesn't play any blue-bottomed cds. Am I right in thinking that the laser is getting weaker?

Yes, you are right, over time the laser does become weaker, and doesnt read disks aswell as it did before. What you can do is adjust the POT's underneath the laser, this will allow you to easily re-calibrate it, and make it read all the disks again, if you want a guide telling you how to do it, PM me your email address and i will send it as an attachment.
