Yeah, and thinking I bought PS3 with GTA4 in mind... All summer I have been telling myself: Just wait till October 16, and you'll see GTA4. Now all I have is a PS3 full of dust that wont get much use for the end of the year and beyond. I have several games but they all suck.
What a waste. Sony did let me down this generation. I really didn't bought a bluray player, but thats what I got...

^^^how many times you going to say that ffs.
If you think ps3 has no good games when it cleary has, sell it. If you want to keep it look after it and maybe when the games you like come out you will have a working ps3 to play it on.
Good games out now and in next few weeks are, Resistance, Warhawk, Call of duty 4, pro evo7/fifa 08 (which ever you prefer), assassins creed, theres more, you just have to go out and buy them

I love this series so I wanna keep this post alive. I think this might be the game that rivals halo 3 for 360. If they market this right it might sell just as good or a lil better. They need to start advertising during the holidays to build up hype.

it cant rival halo and xbox because it will be out on xbox and they are different types of games. Resistance rivals Halo and imo its better :p

I read a few facts and rumors about the upcoming GTA IV and heres a few things that got under my skin about it:
1. They SAY that there is no more running out of breath. That was a very good thing because it made running from the cops more fun because you would have to stop behind a building or something to catch your breath.
2. No Airplanes. I dont know about you but to me it was fun flying airplanes in San Andreas. I didnt like pilot school but flying airplanes was fun. Especially how you could go on forever and never reach an invisible wall.
3. No past GTA character cameos (I hope I used that word right).I like how in GTA they would mention a past characters name or in SA you raced the guy from GTA 3. And if you actually thought about it, every character in the games storyline matched. Not like in other games where some of there backgrounds conflicted.
There taking out keypoints in GTA that I liked. I mean I can live without them but I like them being in there.

No planes! What! That sucks.. I loved just typing in the Hydra cheat in SA and getting from Los Santos to Las Venturas or whatever it's called in a minute, instead of driving for 5 or 10.

I know! I played Halo 3 and I didn't like the campaign on co-op or single player. Then I tried it on Live and it was pretty cool, but not that great. I'd choose Resistance over that ANY day.

i dont have a ps3 yet but do have a xbox360, if i were u id get it on ps3 beacause if u think a blu-ray holds bout 50-60gb im not sure n 360 doesnt hold half as much as that so the game will be a lot bigger like the maps and stuff and also will last for a lot longer n better graphics n you dont have to worry bout ur ps3 breaking down like your 360 will, i must say iv had my 360 since release and havnt had 1 single problem with it lol, guess im a lucky 1 lol

360 uses dual layer dvds which hold 8gb. Bluray holds 50gb.
Bluray has compression problems. Hd-dvd does not
Realisticly this isnt too much of an advantage of bluray.
As for better graphics / better gameplay thats bulls*** because the game is going to be more or less identical on both platforms. Although xbox will have exclusive downloads :D
Anyway read up on it.. I think youl find the 360 + PS3 graphics are pretty damn similar.

I haven't heard of any compression problems with Bluray especially when it is really of no concern nor necessary currently. As for your graphics statement that may be at this current time but when devs start to put some time and effort and learn all the tricks as they had to learn with the PS2 things will change. And who is to say that these "exclusive" downloads won't be available for the PS3 sooner or later, remember Rockstar is a business and they could make more money by offering more content to more consumers.

Blu-ray has no compression issues, a few movies being badly encoded is not a "compression problem". And I fail to see how anything to do with movies means that games quality will be different.

Compressing problems?? hmmm. Lol well i dont know how to break it to you but i notice a difference between my xbox 360 and ps3.Im no ps3 fanboy but im annoyed with microsoft for the cheap console they send back from repair (RROD SO MANY TIMES) and the 'great' xbox live lags too much. I recently sold my xbox 360 and pre-orderd 5 games on ps3. I am 99 percent sure that the ps3 will get the same "special treatment". The ps3 community is growing rapidly So im sure playstation will get exclusive content too maybe not the same but different as im sure playstation would want to please their customers and fight back Microsofts $50 million 'gift' to Take Two. Godfather got added missions from the Psn for money? no.

Nothing really since the last time I posted but, the only problem I have with it is that there making it way too realistic. The fun part about GTA was its cartoony type graphics with mature gameplay. Now its becoming too life like and isnt what GTA is about. Before you could look at any screenshot from anywhere in the game and automatically know its GTA but now if you look at it your thinking what new game is this?

Times change,,,
GTA used to be known for its birds eye view, but then they changed it to 3D, and worked out even better than before!

looks crap graphics... but so do all gta games :P
Edit: acctually just watching the video again its looks good, but the faces could do with abit more work.

i dont believe this info is true nothing on Google can i have a link to this info. sounds like a fanboy to me but gta 4 was playstation exclusive until microsoft talked to rockstar(sure money was factor) and got the game released on a port to the xbox 360 system

Thought i should revive this thread :-)
Just pre-ordered my GTA IV from HMV soo pretty excited! Btw, to all the UK people out here hmv are giving away 1000 free ms points if you pre-order GTA IV from there. So its definatly worth going through them!
Also, maybe this thread should be sticked as im guessing a lot of douches are gonna try and start a GTA IV thread seeing as the release is so soon. Just a suggestion?
Anyway roughly 1 month :-D
