Hi guys. I've got a problem with my ps2 slim model (version 13). it was working fine since I bought it 1 year ago, but recently after about 15 min of playing, the fan emits a loud noisy sound.
it's not the clicking noise ...I know that problem...I don't get any disc read errors, besides everything works fine except that loud noise. and when I pose my ps2 vertically the noise disappears partially , but if i put it normally I hear the loud noise again.

please if someone knows anything about that problem please help. thanks

well the slim ps2 doesn't have a fan so it's something else. and you mite wanna stop playing the ps2 and see a specialist on ps2s.

check if it overheats or something because it seems to happen after a certain tiome as you said, or maybe its a point in a certain game that maybe be corrupted and the ps2 is trying to override that bit of data. i mite be trippin here, but still dont play the ps2 and see a specialist who can guide you further

The slim PS2 does have a fan and it turns on based on an internal thermostat so it could be that it is touching something on the inside and when the temperature rises and it clicks on it starts hitting the item, it would explain the fifteen minute or so lapse.
If you're not to worried about opening up your PS2 then go for it and maybe try dusting out the system and making sure that nothing is in the way of the fan.

oh really? coz a lot of my friends have slim ps2 and ALL of them said the slim ps2 doesn't have a fan. well i guess i should check that kind of info before posting :P

When my PS2 was modded it was put into a clear case so yeah I can see the fan running straight through it.
