Hi, I am trying to be able to play my PS2 on my computer monitor, because the TV isn't available as much as I'd like it to be.

In my video card on my Dell Dimension desktop 8100 (I don't know what card it is, but it's the one it came with), there's an S-Video plug, that I believe is inputI plug my S-Video cable on my PS2 to the back of that (I have a third party cable that works with PS2, X Box, and GameCube). I can also plug in my audio cables to the back of my sound card.

How do I get this to play on my monitor? I know the sound is working at least....because I've recorded sound from my PS2 to my computer before. I think I have it hooked up right, I'm just not sure about the video part. Are there any settings I need to change, or programs I should download?

I know I can get a VGA Box, but those are quite pricey.

you say you "believe" it's an input. I'd say read the manual or call up dell and make sure it's an input before you bother spending more time on this. Usually, video card software comes with something that'll let you watch the input on your video card (if it actually has an input and since you haven't found anything like that I'd guess that's actually an output). Also, if I can mention your sig is kinda long lol.

Alright, I guess it is S-Video output, so I'll just have to get a hold of a VGA Box...

You need a capture card. A TV Video card, to be precise. You can get them reasonably cheap, too.

I see some on eBay, with just a cable plug and S-Video, but there's an adapter that comes with it for AV cables, so that shouldn't be a problem.
