I am creating a compilation disk of favorite scenes and woould like to insert a 5-10 second clip of "wow" or "great" or "my favourite" (obviously Australian) or similar comment. How do I do it? I have spent hours searching but don't know the words to use. (typically Australian).

You can use DVD Shrink. Just put the movies you want on your hard drive, then go into Shrink, Reauthor, and click the start/stop to the scene you want. Do this for all scenes. I'm sure there's a guide for it if you haven't used Shrink before. You can get it in my sig. Good luck!
