AVI burn straight to DVD?

I want to burn AVI files straight to a dvd. I don't want to convert them to VOB files. I don't want menus. Can someone please tell me how to burn my AVI files straight to dvd. Thank You.

Using what? Nero? If so, create a new data disc and put your AVI or AVI's onto the disc and burn away. This kind of disc will work in PC, or with a DVD player that supports Divx/Xvid as long as the AVI uses the codec.

Yes, I'm using Nero, but my dvd players won't play data discs. They do play AVI files, as I have done this before. I just don't remember how I did this. Also, I forgot to mention that I want to compress the files so that it will be able to fit on the dvd. Is there a way to compress AVI files? Thank You.

The reason I ask this ? is because I downloaded the first season of Lost and I first tried to convert everything to VOB files then using Nero Vision to create a menu. I had trouble with that so I tried to make a menu with the AVI files, but that is taking about 6 hours or so. Now I just want to burn the AVI files straight to DVD.
