I am new to this How do i burn just DATA to a dvd-r?

i have a DVD-R burner... but i dont have any programs to burn stuff to a DVD-R is there a trial or something free where i can use it to burn cause i need to burn some data onto a blank DVD-R... please help asap

Nero has a free trial and u can burn data 2 dvd with it.
