Without a doubt - AnyDVD & CloneDVD!!!
Much better, friendlier user interface and updated regularly to handle anything out there.
Tried a beta of NeXtcopy and was not thrilled.

hands down if u r going 2 buy a program for copying dvds
ANYDVD/CloneDVD is best.
as i am sure u will get numerous replys saying the same thing
also around here they will use just AnyDVD with anohter free program instead of CloneDVD because u get better picture quality with other programs

welcome to AD charger16!
Well, in my opinion AnyDVD is worth the money. Some people like CloneDVD 2, and I must admit I even have a copy of it. However, there are many people on this forum that only use free programs. You can use a combination of DVDShrink, VobBlanker, RipIt4Me, FixVTS, and if you do not have Nero you can use ImgTool and ImgBurn.
To be honest it is all a matter of opinion, but if I were you I would buy AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2. The reason is because they are updated regularly and are always reliable.
Read up on that DVD NextCopy before you buy it. If it is not updated for the life of the product then I would suggest against it. AnyDVD is updated weekly!

I am with binkie, I too tried the beta of NextCopy and thought it was awful, if you are going to spend money on programs don't buy this one. Get Clone and AnyDVD you won't regret it.

I used nextcopy and what a bust that was. I think it conflicts with just about every windows program!!!
I think fab decrypter, shrink, and VOB banker is a good starter kit combo because they are very educational and they copy everything. I however am very lazy and any+clone takes about 10 secs. to set up and with 2 drives I can come back into my room in aprox. 22 minutes and i'm done!!!!

Quote: I think it conflicts with just about every windows program!!!
I agree I had conflicts with a number of programs, and the developer themselves put out a statement of a long list of programs it conflicts with.
Quote: per dvdnextcopy
This is a list of programs that will or can cause issues when using next copy.
Check to see if you have any conflicting programs. This is a list of software that can possibly interfere in the burning process:
InterActual Player
PC Friendly Player
Nero INCD
Hp-DLA
Direct CD
NewDotNet domains
Gator
OfferCompanion
Also, DVD copying software can sometimes conflict with the software:
Clone dvd
DVD Cloner
Nero 6 or 7
Roxio 6,7,8,
Shrink
Decrypter
DVDFab Decrypter
DVDFab Platinum
1 Click DVD copy
DVD Wizard Pro
ICopyDVDs2
DVD95Copy
DVD to DVD Copy
Xcopy9
123CopyDVD
If you have any of those installed, you should consider disabling or uninstalling those and reinstall our software and try our software again
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334450
They may have worked out some of the bugs with the program, but if you look at this list it has just about every copy program there is.

Agree with many that Any DVD and CloneDVD2 are great - cannot knock what others find what works for them - the trial period Slysoft gives for you to try them should help you make up your mind - I have less problems with my setup with the combination of Slys products than with others - will add that for me using high quality discs (Ty's & Verbs) and burning at a slower write than what my burner will actually burn at helps a copy being good. Good Luck

Dam w/ that list of possible software conflicts and the price they charge I wonder why anyone would even buy it.

Well it crapped out on me, could not get it to do Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on the first beta I tried. They managed to fix some bugs in the next version, but the quality was bad. This proggy is not worth the money. You can use free programs and get better quality.

I was able to do Flightplan and Underclassman - both had the 'newer' copy protection - with it.
Had some issues w/ the program itself (beta) - might have been due to these sf conflicts - have several of the sf's listed above.
I think the only thing I liked was how it talked - think it was something like 'burn stage started' or something like that :)

I have removed the sound file's (Success) in DVD Decrypter and Clone DVD2 and substituted them for the Copy To DVD sound file ("Operation has been Completed"). I got tired of that Mexican hat dance type melody. I thought the Copy to DVD gal had a Russian accent. Who Knows? She Sounds sexy though for sure. To do that you have to change the file format as they are two different sound file formats. I believe I used a trial pogram called Switch to accomplish that. ----www.nch.com.au/switch -- Switch sound file conversion converts .ogg sound files which is what "Operation has been Completed" is, to .wav sound file which is what "Success" is in DVD Decrypter and Clone DVD (same file). Now for you females, you can record any sound file you like and subtitute it also. If you have a .wav format sound file you won't have to convert it either. Make My Day,Clint Eastwood or I'll be Backkkkk, Arnold S. Etc....

If you are going to buy software, as most have stated. AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2 is the best combo. You also have very good free software. Give it a try and see what works for you.

Shrink, Any DVD, DVD Clone 2 All are the very best. I would not even consider using dvdnextcopy with all the software conflicts they have posted. Arniebear, the Trumpet,Ding Dong, and Boo file especially can be replaced easily in Nero. Click: C drive, Program Files, Ahead, Nero. You can record your own files or they can also be changed to whatever wav file you want them to be. Cheers

Txs for the tip! Now to find me a sexy male voice for Nero :)
Too bad Shrink is no longer updated to handle the new stuff by itself - it blows neXtcopy away imho.
