You can't through HDloader because it fails at the DNAS check.
Either patch a backup or use the original but there is no way to do it through a hard drive.
Please research this before posting...

I need to patch my back up, but there is where i am confused can you help me with this please. I heard about windip and dnas codes but i am confused about all that.
Also you said i cant play SOCOM 1 from the HDD?, how come i heard folks saying you can?. Like once they patched it or something, that is what i want to do. Run the game from the HDD using HDL and then go online, this is possible right?.
So wait a minute, i was reading around i think i got it said you can play a BACK UP(ISO) and burning it, then using that to play online. Is that what folks do?, i thought you could like patch the ISO and then run it using HDL and go online that way. So basically if you got a mod chip and play your backups is the only way to get online?.
No, only through a backup disc.
There were some early titles that didn't use DNAS but I don't believe Socom 1 was one of them.
If it is then yes you should be able to.

You CAN play backups online if they are burnt to a disc and patched. But you cannot play games online using hd loader, as meyer said, it will fail the dnas check, and there is no way around it.
If the error is "network adapter not detected" then DNAS should not be the issue. I know hdloader/hdadvance somehow disable network adapter with the drivers they load, because socom 1 NTSC (north american) doesn't have DNAS enabled and I know of people that have had success going online off the hdd with non dnas games (including socom 1).
