Hi all,

I'm wondering if any knows of any software that can track users on home network. I use a Linksys router. Basically, I'm not looking to try to get anyone's personal info, passwords, or anything like that and I'm not looking to install any key loggers on any PC's either. Basically, I have a strict policy of what is not allowed to be downloaded in this house by using any P2P networks due to all the copyright BS! Therefore, in order to kind of protect myself, in the event that someone does download something that is not allowed and I ever get one of those notices, I'd like to beable to track down who it was that did it. If the software could log the program used, the file name and the IP address, (192.168.1.xxx) that would be great.

Thanks for any input.

The linklogger looks really cool, unfortunately it uses the Messenger Service which for the better is disabled in SP2.

Thanks all!

lifelike, I believe that the softactivity programs have to be installed on each computer. Can't really use that.

*shrug*
it was worth a shot.
hope you find one that will work for you.
be sure to post what you ended up using, in case someone else happens to be looking for the same thing. You can say, "I found it first!"

Well I downloaded the trial version of Linklogger but I'm having issues with it. One minute it'll pull the log/info from my router than it'll stop, etc.

I am certainly not shooting down linklogger, I wonder if it would still function properly without it. The Messenger Service just sends out admin prompts and notes across to other users, and if you do not want the person to know you're watching them, I am sure that service can be disabled in the program.
