I put in a DVD and did all the normal steps using DVD Shrink. it was a 7 gb dvd and i did the automatic compression method and it burned onto a 4gb dvd -r without any problems. i put the dvd in and it plays the movie right away with no problems until the 2nd to last section that u can select in the menu. it freezes for a few seconds, then will jump a few seconds ahead and play a bit of sound, then freeze and stays there for a longer time. and it just does this on and on. long pauses freeze framing. but only at the end of the movie. any 1 know what the problem is? Any help would be appreciated :)
as per MysticE's response, media is likely culprit, and/or burning speed. what brand media are you using? what burning speed? often people suggest burning at half the maximum speed rating of the blank dvds (i.e. burn 8x rated at 4x, etc.). many people suggest using taiyo yuden or verbatim media for the least trouble. another option in case you have hundreds of whatever brand you have and want to use them... adjust/customize the size of the writing down to 4300MB or so, which will leave more room blank on the sketchy outer edge of the cheaper media, where problems sometimes arise. this will increase the percentage of compression, but may avoid the skip/freeze issue. probably best to chuck that batch of media and try verbatims. i use them rated 16x and burn at 8x and have never had a problem. let us know what happens.
yes try better media (Taiyo Yuden and or Verbatim) and burn at 4x starting out. set your target size a little smaller in DVD Shrink to so its not burning to close to the edge of the blank dvd
