i have a 700mb AVI file on my computer, which plays perfectly on my computer, i thought i would make it into a Video CD to play on my TV's DVD player, but with Nero it expands to 900mb and therefore doesnt fit a CD !.
Using Nero 6 Ulta Edition I thought I could make a Video DVD disc out of it, so i then find that Nero 6 doesnt have an option for a Video DVD disc, and it tells me i should upgrade to Nero 7 and it mumbles something about MPEG4 (which i dont understand !).
So what can i do please, to enable me to watch this AVI Movie on my DVD player on my TV ?.
It is saying you need an XviDcodec for it to bebale to convert the file. Your AVI is probably XviD so go to the below link and download the XviDcodec and then try to run the AVI file in Nero Vision Express choose to make a Video-DVD.
I alwaus got the add MPEG4 codec error when first installing Nero. They give a link for you to go to for the MPEG 4 codec but it cost money. Instead of paying for it I just downlaoded and isntalled the free XviDcodec that I gave a link to. You could also use Klite codec packages for this as well.
I always get that error message after installing the Ultra Edition. Even after doing a fresh install of XP and install of Nero Ultra It wont let me convert MPEG4 files untill I instal a DivX/Xvid codec. SO in my case it dosent install the MPEG4 codec pack. That is something seprate that I have to download and pay for. But instead I install a free DivX/Xvid codec.
thanks lads,i am off to work now, but i certainly have a lot to go at when i get back home, yeah i already have that version of Nero (6.6.0.18) I have a lot to learn, LOL.
