my son accidentally got into the ps2 matrix config menu and somehow disabled it. the ps2 back up games no longer work. i tried getting back to the config menu but no luck (pressing trinagle + circle ) it just flashes in the tv screen and never stays. how long do i hold it down for? please help.

you have a fake matrix infinity,that happedn to me then i gave it to the guy who did it and put a new (fake) 1 in for me,did u buy it online??

i have used this ps2 for well over a year now and it worked fine all of a sudden it just stopped working when that menu popped up. is it possible the chip is fried?

yes if you try to change the settings in the config menu with a cloned matrix infinity it will kill it

i never changed the chip. i turned it on one day and got the config menu then it stopped playing backed up games.

umm you cant do anything you screwed,get a new chip or remove the chip

Changing the settings on a clone/fake chip, will rended it in-operable, which is what has happened to your chip. So all you can do is get another chip, just what Sniping_G said.
