I dont know what is wrong but as of yesterday, if i try to rip a movie with shrink, it goes through analysing perfectly fine, but when i hit the backup tab it starts to rip it then all of a sudden shrink just shuts down with no error message or anything, it just disappears, anyone know what would be causing this????

What's the title of that dvd your are trying to rip?

DVD Shrink does some weird stuff when it encounters the newer encryptions-like sony's arccos encryption. I've seen:

Illegal navigation errors and crc errors due to the encryption.

Have you got AnyDVD? If you do try ripping it to HDD with it's ripper and then use Shrink on those files or Nero Recode.

Did you try a system restore to before you had the problem, or possibly just uninstall and reinstall Shrink. Try a Virus/Spyware Scan, Reg Clean and Defrag.

If the disk you're ripping is scratched, maybe DVD Decrypter may do it for you. I've found that decrypter works better in those cases...

My two cents anyway.

Cheers!!!

@drewbelle

I said use AnyDVD's own ripper. Right click fox and select ripper function. And then open the files, AnyDVD creates, with Shrink and proceed as before.

There you go. That's why we have all these proggys. One will ultimately solve the problem when the others balk.
