hello all, just recently my pc shut down by itself and gave meerror message saying something about a new hardware install and systen caching. also my printer drivers are missing, i tried to reinstall them over the net and itll download however i dont see the drivers. then when i click on add a printer in the control panel i get a message that says something about the printer spooler service inst running. please help hp with pentium 4 windows xp service pack 2

To check if your printer service is running:

Start, run, services.msc

Click on the Standard tab at the bottom left hand corner and scroll down to Printer Spooler. Double click it to see that it's set to Automatic in the pull down menu. If the service is not running, click on Start. If it fails, check it's Dependencies to see what else may be the cause.
