Hi,
I have just installed a new laser in my ps2 (v3). All orginals are working fine. Even imports(NTSC games) which are originals are working. The problem is whenever i put a cd-r or DVD-R backup i get clicking sound in my ps2 while putting an orignal i dont get any such sounds.

what brand discs are you using?

Ok the DVD's seem to work. But none of the CD-R's are working. I am using Imation for both DVD+R and Cd-Rs

I would start by using higher quality discs.

Can it be the laser? may be i need to adjust some pot to make it run Cd-R's better. I have already tried the white cog which doesnt seem to make any difference. And the thing to note the cd-r's used to boot earlier with the older lens which died. This one seems to reject reading Cd-R's. Will only read pressed Cd's. I'll try a cd-r audio cd and let you know
