After reading some of the other forum postings on this movie, I doubt anyone can help, but I figured it is worth a shot. I am trying to complete V for Vendetta. I have used DVDFabDecrypter(No issues here). Next I ran DVD Shrink as I always do and I got an error that states:

"Failed to read file "C:\Decrypts\V for Vendetta\DVD\VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_1.VOB"

Invalid access to memory location"

So I ran it thru VOBBLANKER and continued getting the same error. So I decided to run it through Nero Recode and it locks up while Analyzing at 92.2%.

Am I correct in assuming that I have done everything to my ability, and this must just be a bad decrypt? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi.

Either try running the files from DVDFab Decrypter thru FixVTS and then into Shrink or try Ripit4me.

FixVTS: http://www.videohelp.com/~FixVTS/

Ripit4me: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/360110

I assume you used the updated DVDFab Decrypter.

I reauthor all my movies because I don't care about the menu's but Shrink worked fine without running any decrypting programs and then I burned with Nero.

PS - V for Vendetta one of the better movies I have seen in a while. :-)

well one thing u can do is Balnk this VTS_02_1.VOB out when u use VobBlanker. this file is just a specail feature, 15mins worth if u dont care about it then u can blank it out then run it thru shrink and u shouldn't get that error.

Try running the movie through DVDFab Decrypter 1st, then VOB Blanker, then DVD Shrink, lastly DVD Decrypter or DVD Image Burn.
You should have any problems.

Updated copy of AnyDVD and DVD Shrink worked for me. But from experiance DVD Fab -> VOB Blanker -> DVD Shrink should do the trick.

Nothing special in V for Vendetta, true it may carried some of the latest protections, but DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker can handle this piece of cake flawlessly. And now the rest is history with DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2 or any of your transcoding/encoding engines.

Well, there are tons of FREE tools that can rip any dvds (yes.. even new released) flawlessly, regardless if it's RipGuard or ARccOS. Below are some very useful FREE tools to have.

<< *FREE* Ripper & Editing tools >>
** DVDFAB Decrypter - one of the best FREE ripper now (takes 12 minutes to rip)
** RipIt4Me - one of the best FREE COMBO/ripper including DVD Decrypter + PSL (12 - 15 minutes to rip)
** VobBlanker - one of the strongest FREE editing tool (2 - 5 minutes to process/fix fake structural, fake cells, dummy vts/pgc, etc. flawlessly, it can "cut, edit, strip and blank" out any scenes/vts/cells or unwanted junks.)
** FixVTS - one of the best FREE junks processing tool (works the same way like VobBlanker, but it "can not" edit or blank out unwanted junks.)
** PgcEdit - a very useful FREE editing tool.

<< *FREE* Transcoding tool >>
** DVD Shrink - (one of the best FREE transcoding engine).

<< *FREE* ISO/Image burning engines from LUK >>
** DVD Decrypter
** ImgBurn

Just did it...
it worked..
1st dont even bother using DVDFab latest version, there's a code or a line that tell your burner that the file is too big to fit on your DVD. So...
1- use decrytor
2- DVD Shrink

it worked tested...good quality...59% or so

i used AnyDVD 6.0.4.5 (the latest) and DVDShrink. with AnyDVD, I set it to "Remove Annoying Adverts and Trailers" and "Jump to Title Menu" (you can set this option to whatever you wish) and with DVDShrink, I removed all subtitles and left only the English audio track(s) and adjusted the compression to 63% all across the board

I don't know why it didn't work for you, but DVDFAB+Shrink work fine for me.

I did this one with AnyDVD and CloneDVD with no issues at all. Excellent backup results.
