After you decrypt a movie, how do you burn it? I use DVD Shrink and decrypter and do not have any problems backing up movies until it comes to a Disney one. Once I use decrypt, how do I burn the movie? Thanks for any help.

if you don't have Nero for burning, you can download imgburn for free. also DVD Decrypter will burn it. both those require you to decrypt to an iso image file. in shrink, select "file", "open disk image". not sure exactly what your question is re burning, or exactly what stage you are at with what software. what did you use to decrypt?

I downloaded DVDFab and was able to take care of business. I could decrypt with DVD Decrypter but it would not allow me to burn. With DVDfab, I was able to decrypt and open the file in DVD Shrink, the back up the file. Thanks for the info.

if u mean u got errors while using shrink then...
All u had to do is run the folder ripped by DVD Decrypter thru VobBlanker, then use shrink and it would have worked.
Just letting u know, so in the future, u dont have to rerip with DVDFab

I could decrypt with DVD Decrypter. when i would try to open the file in shrink, it would not accept or open the file. this is all kind of new. I am used to just having to use shrink. so use the ripped folder thru voblanker and then shrink. I will have to try that. thanks.

DVD Decrypter has not been, is not, and will not be updated, so it isn't capable of decrypting the newer encryptions. so using it and VOB blanker prior to dvdshrink might still give errors (depending on the encryption on the dvd being backed up). better to use dvd fabdecrypter -> VOB blanker -> shrink, or as dialysis1 wrote, if you want to continue to use DVD Decrypter, it is part of the ripit4me package. it works in that case because ripit4me includes 1. the ability for DVD Decrypter to import new files that will allow it to work on current encryptions, and 2. fixvts, which (like VOB blanker) can remedy authoring and other problems used as anti-copy methods. both methods work, and both are free.

Actually if u r able to rip the Movie with DVD Decrypter, then use Vobblanker, it will get all the bad stuff out and fix the dvd in order to use with shrink

@300bowler
hey, thanks for that. so if DVD Decrypter isn't capable of handling the encryption of a particular dvd it will give an error message, but if it processes the dvd you can assume the encryption has been successfully removed? is that correct? then the only thing possibly left to deal with would be the authoring problems and other such tidbits which vobblanker would take care of. is there any advantage in using DVD Decrypter as opposed to dvd fabdecrypter? i have gone to just using fab because it is updated... then VOB blanker and shrink. thanks for the input!
